The Java Joint stocks bass, crappie and catfish baits (live and artificial) that catch fish on Lake Bonham.
Lake Bonham is located just north of 82, in Fannin County. Impounded in 1969, normal water level is 565 ft MSL. There are 2 access ramps, one in the Recreational Area on the south side of the lake and a north boat ramp located in East Oakland Creek. Lake Bonham is a great fishery for Largemouth/Spotted Bass, Crappie and Catfish, no sand bass, no hybrids in Lake Bonham.
Lake Bonhan has rip rap rock cover, cattails, American Lotus (Elephant Ears), Coontail and pond weeds cover.
The main tributary for Lake Bonham is Timber Creek. The other major creaks are Wolf, West Oakland and East Oakland. Lake Bonahm is a good structure lake too. The dam, creek channels, humps, ridges, points, road beds, drainage ditches and pond dams provide excellent structure for year round fishing.
The bass lake record was broke in March 2013. The new record is 12.77 lbs. The previous Lake Record Bass was 11.50 caught by Dale Anderson June 5th 2010
